I am feeling pretty good about what my group has done so far. Last week we were able to interview my mom and my dad and I think they went very well. Sarah and I went to the final cut pro editing training last friday and we were able to go through both of the interviews and find parts that we think would be good for our movie. I think the training went very well too. We were also able to switch my family's home video of us in China when we got Maya to a tape we can upload to final cut and that will be a lot of good b-roll. Unfortunately some of the b-roll I took a couple weekends ago did not work, somehow the tape got messed up and the footage skips so we will have to do some more but we have plenty of time. I think we are in very good shape to have a well done trailer by Monday.
It is very hard to become a new part of a group and it is also very hard to welcome someone new into a group you are already apart or, especially if that group has been together for a long time. Even if the person who wants to be part of your group is not hurting any of the group members in any way it is still hard to accept them, for example in the piece "Fellowship" Kafka says, "He doesn't do us any harm, but he annoys us; that is harm enough". To me this means that the sixth person is not annoying but he is new so things in the group become different which annoys the group members. It is hard to change something you are so used to and comfortable with even if it is for the better.
